Karosa in general operated in 1981 — 2020

The beginning of service of Scania UNVI Urbis DD CNG buses — first double-deckers in regular public transport operation in the Czech Republic.

Changes in the infastucture: "Hotelový dům Hlubina" is renamed to "Náměstí Ostrava-Jih". Choosed connections of route 48 are transposed to new express route 78, track: "Poruba, Opavská" – ... – "Duha" – "Pustkovec" – "Hlavní třída" – "Fakultní nemocnice" – "Sámova" – "Náměstí Ostrava-Jih" – "Hrabůvka, Poliklinika" – "Hrabůvka, kostel" – "Hrabůvka, Benzina" – ... – "Hrabová, PZ jih" Night connections of route 49 are transferred to route 113.

KODIS decided that all last stops must have name of district in its name. Renamed stops: "Hrabová zóna jih" to "Hrabová, PZ jih"; "Hrabová zóna sever" to "Hrabová, PZ sever"; "Hrabová zóna střed" to "Hrabová, PZ střed"; "Nábřeží" to "Nábřeží SPB"; "Obchodní centrum" to "Zábřeh, OC"; "Petřkovice nemocnice" to "Petřkovice, kaple"; "Skalka family park" to "Vřesina, Skalka"; "Svinov mosty h.z." and "Svinov mosty d.z" to "Svinov, mosty"; "U Pošty" to "Třebovice"; "U Zahrádek" to "Krásnopolská"; "Zahrádky" to "Třebovice, OC".

DPO has signed contract with Scania for delivery of doubledeckers for the route 88. Pressumed date of beggining in the operation: July 2020.

From 7.1. to 31.8. due to construction works on the crossroad of the street "Sokolská Třída" and "Českobratrská", construction works on the street "28. října" and "Orlovská" and the reconstruction of the bridges on the street "Českobratrská", buses must replace some trolleybus routes and also 13 Karosa buses operates (some are back in operation):

Fire in Hranečník bus depot damaged 12 buses. 7 buses are destroyed.

Changes in the infrastructure:
Some connections of route 31 will be replaced by route 61 on working days.
Selected connections of route 45 ride through the new stop "AVION".
Opening of the new route 61 which was formed mostly by selected connections of the route 31. Track: "Výškovice" — ... — "Hotel Bělský les" — ... — "Frýdecká" — <"Vratimovská"< — "Osada Míru" — "Hranečník".
The route 68 is extended to the "Křižíkova" stop and operating is tranfered from ARRIVA Morava a.s. to Dopravní Podnik Ostrava a.s.
The route 69 is renumbered to 285 as it operates in tariff area Ostrava XXL.
The route 75 is ensured only by the ARRIVA Morava a.s.
Bus stop "Most Čs. Armády" is renamed to the "Vítkovice hřbitov".
Bus stops newly on request: "Vítkovice hřbitov", "Most Mládeže", "Hlučínská", "Nová huť učiliště", "Kolonie Jeremenko", "Moravská", "Český dům", "Stará ocelárna", "Důl Zárubek".

Opening of new route 32. Track:"Křižíkova" – "Muglinovská" – "Sad. B. Němcové" – "Důl Odra" – "Na Mlýnici" – "Palackého" – "Přednádraží" – "Hálkova" – "Hlučínská" – "Outlet centrum".

Dopravní podnik Ostrava a.s. has published order for two new double-decker buses which are planned for the new route 88.

Dopravní podnik Ostrava a.s. has bought Solaris Urbino 18 IV CNG and 3 buses of Dekstra Bus LE37 CNG and 3 electrobuses of Rošero First FCLLI in new colors.
