"Nostalbus association (https://www.nostalbus.be/) and their VanHool"" Sounds like that was a historic , "museum", bus - and still was scrapped?... Though I recall that in Moscow a few years ago a historic ZIL-158 also was scrapped. Even though very few ZIL-158 remained.

Исторический, "музейный", автобус - и все равно был списан?... Хотя вспоминается, что в Москве несколько лет назад списали ЗИЛ-158, тоже "музейный". Несмотря, что большая редкость.

Hello,

The real 558182 was demolished, at that time we were with the 262132 museum bus of Nostalbus (still running) which was numbered 558182 for this special trip on the lines of the operator Latour hence the imitation of the number 558182

Привет,

Настоящий 558182 был снесен, в то время мы были с автобусом-музеем Nostalbus 262132 (который все еще работает), который был пронумерован 558182 для этой специальной поездки по линиям оператора Латур, следовательно, имитация номера 558182

What was the purpose to change the number?... The number does not matter, the bus model does.

The propose was the area of Vlandern where this bus was in service.

As you can see here there are different paarts of Vlanderen.

DeLijn

1 = Antwerpen
2 = Ostflandern (Hauptstadt Gent)
3 = Flämisch Brabant (Hauptstadt Leuven)
4 = Limburg (Hauptstadt Hasselt)
5 = Westflandern (Hauptstadt Brügge)

For the Wallon region there are other companies as well.

TEC

4 = Hennegau (Hauptstadt Mons) und Wallonisch Brabant (Hauptstadt Wavre)
5 = Namur (Hauptstadt Namur) und Charloi (Hauptstadt Charloi)
6 = Namur
7 = Liege Verviers
9 = Charloi und Wallonisch Brabant

In Belgium, we often organize trips with museum buses. We drive in different regions so the museum bus is numbered to imitate a bus that has circulated in the region. For example here we drove on lines of the operator Latour (numbers 5581 **) with the 262132 from Nostalbus. It was therefore numbered 558182 because the 558182 was also an A120 / 31 and belonged to Latour

This is somewhat like in San Francisco: they have a lot of classic American trolleys (trams) PCC from 1930-1940s, run them on the routes E and F; those PCC are collected from everywhere, and each is painted in colors of some North American city - where PCC once ran, but where this particular vehicle never was. :)
