Arbon, Bahnhofstrasse
Route Altstadt Linie

Since this autumn, Arbon has had an autonomous city bus connecting the old town with the railway station. An autonomous Karsan bus, which has been made self-driving by Adastec, is being used for this service. It currently travels at a maximum speed of 24 km/h, which is already significantly better than the Navya shuttle at the time. According to the bus driver, the system works well as long as there are no obstacles in the way, such as a stick or a parked car, in which case he has to swerve. The driving is not yet as smooth as that of a human, but the road to further autonomy is not so far away anymore.
