Originally a single decker, it was later converted into a double decker by UTIC, among other AEC Regals from the Carris fleet. Those buses were nicknamed "lambreta", the Portuguese word for "scooter", because of their lack of power, the result of converting a single decker into a double decker, specially in a city like Lisbon with plenty of climbing streets
