430 was quickly mobilised for the replacement service, as the old Citaro Gs from Berlin started failing and did not recieve the white and blue AVB color scheme.

Due to extensive flood damage the Ahrtalbahn (Ahr valley railway) was still completely closed at the time of the photo. Here we see 430 of AVB ready for departure on a rail replacement service. Nowadays (03/2022) the first half of the railway line is reopened, but the second half will still remain closed for years to come.
